Srinagar, Jul 29: A TADA court on Monday extended remand till August 5 to chief of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi (ITeA) Abdul Samad Malla, alias Inquilabi, Under Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act registered in police station Hajin last year.
Inquilabi, who was arrested in December last year in Pulwama after he was evading arrest for about a month, was produced before TADA court Srinagar today. The court after hearing both sides sent him to judicial remand till August 5. The court turned down an application from the family members of Inquilabi to sent him to Central Jail, Srinagar or any sub jail in north Kashmir.
Earlier on July 27, a local court in Bandipora had granted judicial remand to Inquilabi till today. Though the prosecution had demanded 13 days remand.
Inquilabi has filed a case in a court in Bandipora district seeking Rs 10 crore compensation for his repeated arrest for the past 25 years.
