Workshop cum Awareness Prog on Skill in B’la
DC Presided over as Chief Guest, Terms Skill Devtt among the Priority Areas

Baramulla, November 22: Government Degree College for Women Baramulla in collaboration with WIZKID Consultancy and Financial Services Pvt Ltd organized a day long workshop cum awareness programme on Skill Development in the auditorium of the college with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo as the chief guest and Regional Director IGNOU Dr Shamim Ahmad Dar as the guest of honour.
Principal College Fehmida Bano, Director WIZKID Consultancy Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, college students among other concerned stakeholders participated in the programme.
On the occasion, a special demonstration on skill development and other related activities was given wherein different skill development courses sponsored by the consultancy were highlighted. The participants were also familiarized with different career opportunities that may be opted after passing out from the college.
DC in his address, complimented the participants and said that skill development has been one of the priority areas of district administration. He said that Baramulla district has recently brought laurels for the entire J&K as the district was enlisted in top 10 best performing aspirational districts in skill development and financial inclusion indicators.
Emphasizing upon the students to acquaint themselves with job oriented skill courses, DC said that district administration is laying special focus on it through incorporation of different courses in ITIs, polytechnic colleges and in other institutions so that students, after getting these courses can be able to earn their sustainable livelihood. Moreover, DC felicitated the college authorities and WIZKID consultancy for organizing the programme and wished that similar programmes may be organized in different regions.
