War Against Drugs Continues
J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN ARRESTED TWO DRUG PEDDLERS; 58GRAMS HEROINE RECOVERED
January 19: As part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police Post Wachi arrested Two drug peddlers and recovered Herion like substance from their possession.
During routine naka checking by police party of Police Post Wachi at Naghard Babpora one Swift car bearing registration No. JK13J-3347 with two persons onbaord was signaled to stop, however on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was tactfully apprehended. Upon search of the vehicle Herion like substance weighing approximately 58grams were recovered from the vehicle. The vehicle used in commission of the crime was also seized on the spot.
The accused persons has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Koka & Inayat Ahmad Lone both residents of Melhura Zainapora.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 04/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Zainapora. Investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused persons and to unearth the broader network involved in the trade.
