Full Dress Rehearsal Held at DPL Shopian, ADC Unfurls National Flag,
Shopian, January, 24: In connection with the celebration of Republic Day Function, a full dress rehearsal was held today at District Police Lines Shopian where Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade and took a salute at the March Past.
The march past was presented by the contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, IRP, Forest Protection Police, Home Guards, , NCC and Students from different Schools.
Speaking at the event, the ADC highlighted the importance of Republic Day in Indian history. Addressing the gathering, the ADC said that the nation is paying rich tributes to the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who made countless sacrifices for the freedom of the country.
Glorifying their contributions, he said that it is the result of their supreme efforts that we are living in a free country.
He further said that Shopian is recognized as the fast developing district and has achieved remarkable achievement in aspirational District Programmes like Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
Meanwhile, a variety of colorful cultural programmes on patriotic themes were presented by students from various schools of the district.
The function was attended by various officers, officials,locals and students.
