India-China troops for maintaining peace, tranquility, improving relations
Srinagar, May 1: Troops of India and China on Wednesday reflected the mutual desire for maintaining peace and tranquility on the borders in Ladakh region, a defence ministry spokesman said here this evening.
He said ceremonial Border Personnel Meetings (BPMs) on the occasion of “International Labour Day’’ was conducted on Wednesday at Chinese BPM huts at Moldo opposite Eastern Ladakh, a defence ministry spokesman said here this evening.
He said the ceremonial BPM was marked by saluting the National flag by members of the delegations.
This was followed by the ceremonial address by delegation leaders and exchange of greetings, he said.
He said both sides reflected the mutual desire of maintaining peace and tranquility and improving relations at functional level at the border areas. Thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Chinese culture and traditions was organised by the Chinese side.
Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amidst a feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the border areas.
