Omar mocks cleanliness drive by Hema Malini and others at Parliament
Srinagar, Jul 13: Mocking cleanliness drive by actor turned politician Hema Malini and BJP Members of Parliament (MP) at Parliament, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said it ( Parliament) is one of the cleanest place in the country that too when the House was in session.
The three time MP Omar asks Hema Malini to practice in private before next photo session since the technique you’ve employed won’t contribute much to improving cleanliness.
The National Conference (NC) Vice President was reacting to a short video of the Bollywood actor cleaning a road inside the Parliament complex which came in for severe criticism on social media as the broom of the Mathura MP was not even touching the ground as she swept.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter Omar said “But the Parliament complex is one of the cleanest places in the country, especially when the sessions are on, so what were they sweeping”.
“Ma’am please practice how to wield the (broom) in private before your next photo op,”Omar further tweeted. He said “This technique you’ve employed won’t contribute much to improving cleanliness in Mathura (or anywhere else for that matter).”
Omar said “I knew sweeping the dormitories in Sanawar (Himachal Pradesh) would be useful for something. I’m now qualified to comment on the (sweeping) technique of others.
