Stresses on priority sector lending
KATHUA: District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) to review the performance of various banks.
At the outset, DDC released annual activity report of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Kathua for the year 2016-17.
ADC, Lead Bank Manager, LDO RBI, DDM NABARD, Director R-SETI, representatives of other banks besides senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
Detailed deliberations were held on key issues including deposits, advances under priority sector, various government sponsored schemes and lending for the quarter ended June 2017.
The DDC took a threadbare review of Annual Credit Plan, CD ratio, SC-ST-OBC / KVIB / KVIC / DIC / PMEGP / NULM, NRLM Handloom / Handicraft and emphasized upon banks to expedite cases for linkage under various schemes to achieve set targets.
The DDC impressed upon the banks and line departments to ensure effective coordination in their working to give maximum benefit to the society at large. He exhorted that potential under Agri allied activities be tapped fully with focus on Horticulture, Dairy, sericulture etc.
The DDC asked the banks to adopt multi level approach to expand their outreach in far-flung areas for maximum coverage under social security scheme like Atal Pension Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jevan Jyoti Yojana, Sukanya Samridhi Yojna and PMFBY (Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna) etc and spread mass awareness on these important schemes having wider scope and benefit for general public.
The DDC called upon NABARAD to extend full support for SHGs, JLGs among other issues. He also asked the bankers to link SHG on priority and achieve 100% coverage under KCC besides stressed on 100% DBT payments.
It was informed in the meeting that R-SETI Kathua conducted 92 courses till ending June 30-2017 in which 2177 candidates were trained under different trades. DDC exhorted upon the officers to create awareness regarding these vocational courses so that maximum number of eligible candidates can be benefitted.
He also called for launching sanitation campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ in and around the bank premises to create hygienic ambience in the bank which will ultimately improve their work culture.
