Srinagar, Aug 7: (GNS) Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the “brutal behaviour” of Indian rulers and their authorities with the jailed women leader Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her associates Nahida Nasreen and Fahmeeda Sofi, who are lodged at Mandawali Jail, Delhi on a judicial remand till August 10.

Malik in a statement issued to GNS alleged that on August 5, these women leaders were “secretly shifted to Tihar jail, Delhi without even informing their families and lawyers”.

“Recently the relatives of Syeda Asiya Andrabi and Nahida Nasreen visited Mandawali jail where they had to meet their jailed relatives. As they reached the jail, authorities there told them that incarcerated ladies have been shifted to Tihar jail. Families travelled to Tihar jail where authorities denied them a meeting and asked them to come after four days for the same,” he said.

Condemning this “callous approach” of Indian rulers and their authorities, JKLF chairman said they have “yet again displayed their anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir attitude by inflicting more miseries on two families that had travelled thousands of kilometres to meet their incarcerated relatives but were denied a meeting”.

Malik appealed ICRC, which looks after the cases of incarcerated people, to take cognisance of this “cruel behaviour”.

Meanwhile, JKLF chief paid rich tributes to Syed Irfan ul Hassan Shah on his anniversary today.

Remembering the “great son of soil”, Yasin Malik said, “Irfan-ul-Hassan strived for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir from his early childhood and sacrificed his youth for the sacred cause. No Kashmiri can ever forget the sacrifices rendered by these great martyrs and it is the duty of each one of us to remain vigilant and connected to the struggle that is nourished by the sacred blood of great martyrs.”

Praying for the heavenly abode of Irfan-ul-Hassan, JKLF chairman expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. (GNS)
