SRINAGAR : Existing and new industrial unit holders were present in the awareness programs and benefited from the lectures of experts from the department of Industries and Commerce and the Commercial Taxation Department.
In Bhag-i-Ali Mardan Khan estate which is closest to the District Industries centre Srinagar, General Manager, Syed Sajad Qadri informed the unit holders that the centre is trying their best to promote Industries by way of incentives, subsidies and other hand holding facilitation, through application of state and central schemes, under the guidance of Director I&C, Mr Bilal.
Mr Faheem Bihaqi from commercial taxation department discussed the new GST reimbursement made available to the industrial unit holders.
North East Package has been recently extended to Jammu and Kashmir by Central Department of Industries (DIPP) which will benefit the unitholders by way of tax reimbursement, transport of furnished goods etc.
Industrial unitholders welcomed such incentives at all the industrial estates which were explained in detail to them. Mantasha Binti Rashid, Functional management with the cooperation of other staff members organised and managed the awareness camp at Bhag-i-Ali Mardan. There are 121 industrial units registered in Bhag I Ali Mardan itself which is the oldest industrial estate of district Srinagar. Mr Rouf Lone, Deebah Khalid and Suhail ul Islam organised the camps in Zainakote, Zakura and Khonmoh respectively.
Khonmoh industrial estate has maximum number of registered industrial units numbering around 261.
In Srinagar industrial estates which is considered organised sector, nearly 800 small scale industrial (SSI) units are in production and thousands of units are registered with DIC Srinagar in unorganised sector, which is outside of the industrial estates. Certain benefits are applicable to these units as well which were explained in detail by the staff of DIC Srinagar in all five industrial estates.
PMEGP scheme was also discussed as a way to curb unemployment in the state where start ups are funded upto 25 lakh rupees through DIC with a subsidy of 25-35%. Industrial promotion officers explained the process of application and other procedures to the existing and potential enterprunuers.
