PC leader Ansari hits out at NC for paying homage to Mirwaiz & not to Lone

Srinagar, May 21: Hitting out at National Conference for not paying homage to separatist leader Abdul Gani Lone, Peoples Conference (PC) General Secretary Imran Reza Ansari on Tuesday said selective homage paying exercise carried out by NC reveals that even bereavement is selective for these power-hungry beasts.
Mirwaiz, father of chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq was assassinated by unidentified gunmen on this day in 1990 in his Nigeen house. Peoples Conference (PC), a constituent of separatist HC chairman Abdul Gani Lone was killed in 2002 gunmen when he was about to leave for home after paying tributes to Mirwaiz at Eidgh in the down town on this day.
Meanwhile, paying homage to the duo, PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone said ‘this day we remember Mr Lone and Mirwaiz, martyred for standing up for their people and calling a spade a spade’. “They sacrificed their lives. Their legacy shines and lives on. The cowardly killers consigned to the long queue waiting for their journey to hell,” he twitted.
“I was not surprised but amazed by the pettiness of @JKNC_. While all parties paid homage to Late Mirwaiz Sb and Late Lone Sb — NC chose to pay homage to only one. Obviously because his son is fighting them. This reveals their true respect towards separatists,” he wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
He said the martyrdom and sacrifice of Mirwaiz and Mr Lone doesn’t depend upon who pays homage but it reveals the littleness and the pettiness of the murderers and thieves of 1987 i.e. NC.
“Selective homage paying exercise carried out by @JKNC_ reveals that even bereavement is selective for these power-hungry beasts. These people were chest beaters for Jamaat just a few weeks back. Hope people understand the disrespect and disdain that they share for the sacrifices,” he twitted.
Normal life was on Tuesday crippled due to restrictions imposed by authorities in downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK), Srinagar and strike called by separatists in elsewhere in the valley.
Meanwhile, moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq has been placed under house arrest to prevent him from leading a procession from historic Jamia Masjid to Eidgah martyrs grave yard on the death anniversaries of Mirwai Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone.
