Srinagar, May 31: An Army official received a bullet wound near the Line of Control (LoC) at Siachen Glacier in Ladakh region, a defence ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that an officer deployed in the Pratap Pur Sector at Siachen Glacier suffered gun shot wound at around 1050 hrs on Friday.
“The injured was immediately evacuated to the nearby Military hospital and is presently under treatment,” he said.
Col Kalia said details of the incident are being ascertained.
However, local media alleged that the officer attempted to commit suicide by shooting self with his service rifle.
